Description:
The project involved complete exterior repairs. Exterior repairs to stone included removing existing caulk, repairing cracks, repairing bent plate anchors, removing and replacing deteriorated stone, cleaning and recaulking. Portions of exterior curtain wall were resealed and tested. Terrace planters work included removal and resetting existing stone; removal of landscaping and soil, and waterproofing and repair to concrete surfaces; new waterproofing, soil, irrigation, and landscaping.

The project had demanding conditions. Work was performed in 11 segments, sealing off each construction area so that the museum could remain open and functional. This required extensive coordination with building management and protection of the facilities and the public. In addition, the unique scaffolding and staging plan by Walsh saved substantial cost and impact to owner.
