Description:
The purpose of the project was to relocate existing underground utilities in preparation for the new Capitol Visitor's Center. The primary site work consisted of relocation of large water lines and other utilities along with all associated work on roads, walks, and landscape. Within the Capitol building there was extensive steam relocation work that also required extensive hazmat abatement and cutting and patching historic fabric. Project conditions included tight security and detailed scheduling and coordination so as not to disrupt ongoing operations and building access.
