a gala event hosted at the JW Marriott hotel in Washington DC on
December 3, 2005. Friends, family, staff, colleagues and subcontractors

CEO, James V. Walsh presented his guests with a moving tribute to
his father, the late William V. Walsh, founder of Walsh Construction,
recounting his father’s life and achievements. Of the many
historic projects built by Walsh Construction in D.C., of particular
pride to the Sr. Mr. Walsh were the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial
and the Columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Walsh also
noted his father’s philosophy that building was a professional
and noble endeavor and all who participated successfully should
be rewarded with a good living, recognition, and an opportunity
to further oneself regardless of their station.
